I am Noémi. o/
I am a senior backend engineer with a decade of experience building open source software and backend systems, currently working on hosted PostgreSQL at Xata.
My background is in infrastructure and backend engineering. Over the years I have worked on tooling for PostgreSQL replication and schema migrations, distributed systems, observability and infrastructure monitoring software, and privacy-focused web application. I have spent much of my career contributing to and maintaining open source projects, including pgstream, pgroll, Beats, and searx.
I write about software architecture, system development, and agentic engineering. I like exploring the design decisions, abstractions, trade-offs, and failures that shape the systems we build. My posts come from things I am actively thinking about and working through: be it a technical deep dive or just an interesting idea inspired by a conversation with a colleague.
